The Need for Clean and Efficient Biomass Combustion to replace Charcoal
City populations in Africa are exploding but infra-structure is not keeping up. This leads to a massive increase in the demand for charcoal used as a smokeless and efficient cooking/heating fuel. However this demand is causing a natural disaster in many cities and in areas around cities, the environment is being destroyed. It leads to deforestation, and global warming and can affect the climate in these areas
There is desperate need to find alternative fuels that are renewable but also sustainable.
FabStove supports the manufacture of biomass pellets in Africa using available biomass waste streams. We not only have a strategy for providing efficient stoves but also providing the tools to allow waste products to be turned into efficient combustion fuels.
FabStove Uses Biomass Pellets
The FabStove has been optimised for biomass pellets, made from residues left over during timber production or food harvesting/ processing. Rather than being dumped or burned they can be made into usable / renewable fuel and used for productive energy
FabStove Makes Biochar
After burning for cooking or making heat, the FabStove will have generated about 20% of the fuel volume in biochar. This can be used to enhance your garden and grow healthy vegetables. Added back to the soil it promotes healthy plant growth.
